Carbonated Steam Cleaning Benefits

While you may think that all steam cleaning carpet treatments render the same results, this isn’t true. Steam cleaning is more effective than dry cleaning because it washes carpets and removes more dirt. However, you won’t see the same results from every steam clean. Some are better than others.

For example, if you have a carpet that needs a deep clean, you may want to consider having a hot carbonated treatment. Like a regular steam clean, this washes your carpet. You are, however, likely to see better results from a carbonated solution. What are the benefits?

1. Carbonation Adds Power to a Clean

Regular steam cleans push water into carpets and then suck it out again. This does remove some dirt; however, the cleaning focus tends to be limited to the surface. While this does clean things up, it doesn’t necessarily deal with deep-lying dirt at the base of carpet fibres.

Carbonated steam cleaning uses lots of bubbles in the wash process. These bubbles are pushed down into the carpet pile where they fizz about. During this process, the bubbles target the dirt embedded deep in the carpet.

The bubbles simply encourage the dirt to come loose and push it up towards the surface of the carpet. It can then be removed by the cleaning machine together with any surface dirt. This gives you a deeper and more effective clean.

2. Carbonated Cleaning Keeps Dirt at Bay

While general steam cleaners claim to leave carpets dry in hours, this isn’t always the case. These treatments use so much water that carpets can get soaked through.

The top of the pile may seem dry after a few hours; however, the base of the carpet may stay damp or wet for days. Carpets may pick up dirt again quickly if they are damp; they may even start to turn a little mouldy.

Regular steam cleans also often use soap products as part of the cleaning process. It’s is hard to remove all traces of these soaps after a clean. But, if any residue is left behind, it lodges in the carpet’s fibres where it attracts more dirt as time passes. Although your carpet may be clean after a treatment, it may get dirty again quicker than you anticipated.

Carbonated steam cleaning uses a lot less water than regular steam cleans — about 80% less on average. This ensures that carpets dry out more quickly after a treatment. Usually, carpets are fully dry in a few hours. Plus, carbonated cleaning doesn’t contain any additives that can be left behind to make carpets dirty again.

3. Carbonated Cleaning Removes More Allergens

The fact that carbonated steam cleaning gives a top to bottom level clean ensures that you remove as many allergens from carpets as possible. They can’t hide at the bottom of a carpet’s pile. Using a carbonated clean that includes a sanitiser treatment also future proofs your carpets against allergens for a longer period after cleaning.

If you have anyone with allergies at home, then the fact that carbonated cleaning treatments don’t use any soaps or chemical additives is also a bonus. People with allergies may suffer after a carpet has been through a regular steam clean if the treatment leaves behind substances which trigger their allergies.

A carbonated steam clean is especially useful if you have cats at home and someone in the house has a cat allergy. Cats shed skin flakes, known as dander, into carpets where it sticks to the pile. This dander can make allergies worse. Carbonated steam cleaning targets and removes dander much more effectively than regular treatments, even those that claim to deal with allergens.
